Margot became a Partner in UHY Hacker Young in 2008. She trained with KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992, becoming a partner in a small Nottingham firm in 1997, where she audited a number of charities and trusts. When the practice was sold in 2005, she spent 14 months as finance manager for British Swimming in Loughborough before deciding to return to practice.
Margot has a particular interest in charities, trusts and the not-for-profit sector, as well as extensive experience in general practice, working with businesses and companies of all sizes. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, she is also a member of the ICAEW Charity and Voluntary sector group. She is our local sustainability and renewable energy specialist.
In addition to having a keen interest in organic gardening, being a life member of Garden Organic (the HDRA), and a Sustrans supporter, Margot has been honorary treasurer and a trustee of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust since 2005, and has done voluntary work with a number of charities in the environmental and transport sectors.
